Location: Ithaca, New York | Full-Time Days/Evenings FLEX | Cayuga Medical Center

A Dynamic Setting for Foundational Clinical Imaging

General diagnostic radiography remains the essential backbone of acute care diagnostics. At Cayuga Medical Center, radiologic technologists are clinical collaborators relied upon by emergency physicians, orthopedic surgeons, and inpatient care teams to capture diagnostic images that guide critical interventions. Cayuga Health is seeking an ARRT-certified Radiologic Technologist to join its hospital imaging department in Ithaca. Offering flexible scheduling (10 or 12-hour shifts), premium compensation, and an up to $15,000 sign-on bonus, this position is designed for professionals who thrive in an active hospital environment.

Professional Value Proposition

If you are currently practicing in a repetitive, compartmentalized imaging environment, Cayuga Medical Center offers the professional variety you seek. As part of our hospital-based diagnostic team, you will rotate through acute trauma imaging, surgical C-arm guidance, inpatient bedside studies, and outpatient diagnostic procedures. You will work alongside skilled senior colleagues and diagnostic radiologists who value your positioning accuracy and technical expertise. Supported by modern digital radiography equipment and clinical support structures, you will have the room and encouragement to build a long-term clinical career.

Clinical Scope & Daily Impact

The Radiologic Technologist plays a vital role across all inpatient and acute clinical pathways:

  • Diagnostic Imaging Mastery: Execute a broad range of diagnostic radiographic examinations, selecting exposure parameters and positioning techniques to capture optimal images on the first exposure.

  • Acute & Surgical Coverage: Operate portable digital imaging units and mobile surgical C-arms across emergency, intensive care, and surgical units.

  • Quality & Protocol Adherence: Review all acquisitions critically against radiologist protocols, manage documentation, and transfer studies to PACS with zero latency.

  • Patient-Centered Practice: Provide compassionate care across the entire demographic spectrum—from pediatric to geriatric patients—while adhering to ALARA radiation safety guidelines.
